Ecclesiastics 1: 9 (NKJV)
That which has been is what will be,
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.
The teacher teaches us that life is a cycle, a repetition of what was before. What man breaks man can also fix.
"A society's true moral character is revealed not by its treatment of the strong, but by its compassion and support for the weakest—the poor, disabled, elderly, or marginalized—reflecting its empathy, justice, and overall humanity."
- Mahatma Gandhi. Echoed by: Nelson Mandela, Gustavo Gutiérrez and Fyodor Dostoevsky
As mere mortals, we will not always get it right. Life’s pressures often alter the characters of our societies until they are unrecognizable. We can then either join the choruses of criticisms that correctly point out all the flaws and shortcomings, or we can blaze alternate and positive trails for others to follow or use as reference points.
At Siphiwe Msimango Foundation, we choose the latter. We know that showing empathy towards the vulnerable is what makes us human.
[Everyone is entitled to change their minds, turn a new leaf and redefine themselves. Please join us as we re-establish and rekindle what was once our second nature, “Ubuntu”.]
