In a manner of speaking, these are awards that are practically owned and oragnised by the community of Soweto. This is a collaboration between stakeholders in the community, led by the foundation. Disabled people deserve better

Malume is Diepkloof, Soweto’s unsung hero who regularly throws parties for children with severe physical and mental disabilities when he is not spending time at Chris Hani Bara-gwanath Hospital giving “goodies” to children with terminal illnesses.


If there is one person who will get my vote, it is Malume.

Malume celebrates 25 years as a volunteer

Siphiwe “Malume” Msimango will be celebrating 25 years as a community volunteer on February 25.  For 25 years, Malume has been volunteering at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital’s children’s cancer ward and inviting famous singers and music groups to entertain old people.
